A new job beckons…

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Youpi!! Je viens de trouver un nouveau boulot. Pfff... :)

Well, after lots of waiting, discussion, an interview, and all the rest of it… I have landed a new job. Woohoo! I will finish at the University of Cambridge on July 31st, and begin at the European Bioinformatics Institute (the EBI) on September 1st. I’ll update my LinkedIn profile then, I think. Thanks to friends and [ex-]colleagues who helped out with advice, references and general encouragement.

I am really excited about it  -  lots of challenges, but lots of good resources with it. I will be joining a great little web development team (I’ve already been in and chatted with the team), just as lots of new stuff is happening.

They want me there to share some of the ongoing web development/coding/management work, but also to tackle user experience design, and introducing new methodologies to improve the services they provide for all involved. Can’t wait!  :)

And obviously, I have August largely to myself. In fact, we already had a lot of stuff planned during the last couple of weeks of August, and then I expect I will have a stack for freelance stuff to finish off, but… it is nice to think that I will have a bit of breathing space between jobs, that’s for sure.

OK… time to put some champagne in the fridge.
